Sum

Description​

Sum creates one curve by adding the selected signal values at each time sample.

When this feature is available​

Sum becomes available when the selected curves meet the requirements.

For the selection to pass:

  • At least two curves must be selected.

The button becomes available as soon as two or more curves are selected. The calculation still requires compatible units and matching time samples.

Settings​

This feature has no settings.

How WebSAT processes the data​

  1. Load the selected curves and validate their units and time samples.
  2. Reject the operation if the time samples do not match.
  3. Add the signal values at every time sample:

S(t)=x1(t)+x2(t)+⋯+xn(t)S(t)=x_1(t)+x_2(t)+\cdots+x_n(t)

  1. Preserve the positive or negative polarity of every input contribution.
  2. Create and display the summed curve with the common units and time axis.

Results​

The operation produces one new selected sum curve; the source curves remain unchanged.
