Compare Signals
Overview
Compare Signals compares selected curves to a reference and reports summary metrics plus diagnostic plots.
Required Inputs
- Two or more selected curves
- Curves with matching signal units
- Reference Signal
- AVERAGE (default), or
- Any selected curve
- Apply Filter (optional)
- Filter CFC
- 60, 180, 600, or 1000
- Corridor Size (Signal Units)
- Apply Truncate (optional)
- Start Time (s)
- End Time (s)
Calculation
- Harmonize input curves and optionally apply filtering.
- If truncation is enabled, trim curves to the selected time window.
- Choose the reference curve (selected curve or average of selected curves).
- Align each compared curve to the reference.
- Compute residuals and summary metrics.
- Generate diagnostic curves for residual distribution and lag correlation.
- Generate corridor views around the reference.
- Fixed Corridor Plot uses Corridor Size (Signal Units).
- Residual Standard Deviation Corridor Plot uses residual standard deviation.
- 90% Residual Distribution Corridor Plot uses residual spread scaled for 90% residual coverage.
Output
Compare Signals returns:
- Summary metrics table (one row per compared curve)
- Abs. Peak Magnitude
- Mean of Residuals
- Standard Deviation of Residuals
- Percentage of Samples Outside Fixed Corridor
- Cosine Similarity
- T Statistic
- Zero through Fifth Moment Difference
- Processed input curves
- Reference curve
- Residual curves
- Cumulative residual distribution curves
- Cross-correlation curves
- Corridor curves
- Fixed corridor
- Residual standard deviation corridor
- 90% residual distribution corridor (legend label: 90% Residual Coverage)
If a specific curve is selected as reference, that same curve is excluded from comparison rows. Its data is also excluded from residual-spread estimates used for corridor widths.
