Derive

Description​

Derive calculates the rate of change of each selected signal with respect to time.

When this feature is available​

Derive becomes available when the selected curves meet the requirements.

For the selection to pass:

  • At least one curve must be selected.

WebSAT enables Derive as soon as one or more curves are selected.

Settings​

This feature has no settings.

How WebSAT processes the data​

  1. Load each selected curve and determine its sample spacing.
  2. Convert the time axis to a consistent unit when needed.
  3. Calculate the numerical derivative at each sample.
  4. Preserve the original time samples.
  5. Update the signal units to reflect division by time.
  6. Create and display the derived curve while preserving the original.

Results​

Each selected curve produces a new derivative curve.
